Moving involves enough decisions without discovering that cleaning was never scheduled. Planning the work before boxes and furniture arrive can make access easier. Use this checklist to explain the property and the tasks you want completed.
Confirm access and timing
- The property address, city, and ZIP code.
- When you receive keys and when movers are expected.
- Whether the property will be empty or furnished.
- Entry, parking, and building-access instructions.
- Whether water and electricity will be available.
Tell the cleaning team about the move date and any handover requirements. An inquiry does not reserve a cleaning appointment; availability and timing need confirmation.
List the rooms and priorities
Consider kitchen and bathroom surfaces, bedrooms, living areas, floors, and accessible storage areas. Mention dust, pet hair, residue, or other conditions that may affect the work. Do not assume a standard checklist covers every area of the property.
Ask about detailed work
Appliance interiors, inside cabinets, windows, and other extras should be discussed individually. Ask which tasks are available, what preparation is needed, and whether they are included in the estimate. If construction or renovation work was recently completed, describe it so the appropriate cleanup can be considered.
Separate cleaning from repairs and handover requirements
Share any landlord, seller, or property-manager checklist. Cleaning does not establish that repairs are complete, and a cleaning visit cannot guarantee a deposit refund or a particular inspection result.
